Steady and True

"All things pass... God never changes." -- Theresa of Avila

"God is everywhere, and nothing apart from Him is present or has power." -- Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy; Page 473, Lines 8-10

It does no good to believe in God. All belief is just more illusion to shed, to get to the unshakable Truth that lies hidden only by our unwillingness to let go. We might take baby steps by professing a belief in God, but that is far from the experience of the Reality. The steady and true, unshakable knowing that comes from the experience of the Omnipresence of God is what we all are yearning for. And it's right here, right now.

It's the human will that fosters belief, that keeps us blind to the overwhelming Presence of God that is always here, always now. Mary Baker Eddy said, "The human will maketh and worketh a lie, hiding the Divine Principle of Harmony." All beliefs are man-made and consist of lies, since God is the only Reality... and the Divine is far beyond belief. Beliefs are attempts to define and limit the Infinite. Thank Goodness it's not really possible.

The unfailing and infinite Love of God that enfolds and sustains us is the Ground of Being and our very Self. This Truth of Being is Self-evident the moment we stop and are still. "Be still and know that I am God." It requires only the willingness to let go of all beliefs, the limits and stipulations we've placed on ourselves and the world. As A Course in Miracles says, we have to be willing to question even our most cherished beliefs. Behind it all, eternal and sure, is our Awareness of Self... forever One with God, and forever steady and true.
