Radiant and Essential

"We are One in purpose, and that purpose is to radiate the Light." -- from Ye Are Gods, by Annalee Skarin

"And God said, Let There Be Light; and there was Light." -- The Bible; Genesis 1:3

Who You Are is radiant and essential. Who You Are is not subject to who you think you are. Your personality and personal preferences are irrelevant. The paths you take in this dream we call life are irrelevant, just as your night dreams are ultimately irrelevant to your daytime activities. You remain, as you have always been, in God. You are not who you think you are.

A Course in Miracles puts it this way: "The dark journey is not the Way. Walk in Light, and do not see the dark companions, for they are not fit companions for the Son of God, Who was created of Light and in Light. The dark companions, the dark ways are all illusions." We imagine ourselves to be separate, struggling, needy, or alone. We imagine ourselves to be heroic, righteous, struggling for the right and good, part of some grand purpose. Both are part of the dark ways of illusion, the split mind that sees creation as good and bad, right and wrong. Creation is now, and always has been, ONE. No struggle needed.

In prayer this morning I heard the Voice say, "The sun doesn't ask to be shined. It radiates what it IS. You are Light and Love. You don't need to ask to be illumined or to be loved. You ARE Light and Love. Simply BE as God created You... radiant and essential to all creation."

On this election day, I remember that every one of us IS radiant and essential. We have One Purpose that is shared by all mankind, and we so often forget in our preoccupation with personality and ego-struggles. Our only purpose is to radiate the Light that We Are. This requires absolutely no effort... but it does require us to cease our efforting and rest in our Being that is always, effortlessly present.

Outcome is irrelevant to Being. Who We Are remains eternally Radiant, the only Essential.

"Always has no direction." -- A Course in Miracles; Chapter 13, Section I, 3:4
