"For behold, I make all things new." -- The Bible
"A miracle has come to heal God's Son, and close the door upon his dreams of weakness, opening the way to his salvation and release." -- A Course in Miracles
"The learning of the world is built upon a concept of the self adjusted to the world's reality. It fits well. For this an image is that suits a world of shadows and illusions.... The building of a concept of the self is what the learning of the world is for. A concept of self is made by you. It bears no likeness to your Self at all. It is an idol, made to take the place of your reality as Son of God." -- A Course in Miracles
Who do you think you are? We have all heard that statement, coming from our own mouths or those of others. It is usually spoken or thought when we act in ways that aren't in alignment with what the world says is true. As we see from the quote above, we learn to adjust who we think we are to the world's seeming reality and demands. After all, we live in the world, and who do we think we are attempting to live in it as if its rules and sacred cows don't matter? Of all the nerve!
Jeshua ben Joseph gave us very sound advice: "Be in the world, but not of it." In other words, it's not what we do or even what we say... it's where our allegiance lies. When we value the world as true, we are continually adjusting ourselves to it and tying ourselves in knots to be a part of it. When we know it is simply not true, we are able to travel to the beat of a different drum. Aligning ourselves with Truth, not illusions.
How do we come to this place of Knowing? How do we let go and allow Truth to make all things new in us? ACIM tells us, "Forgiveness offers everything I want." Forgiveness is the great undoing, the letting go of all false concepts and beliefs. Forgiveness is like the ultimate housecleaning, that leaves a clean and open space for the Truth to be revealed to us. The Truth of our Being has always been... but the world of shadows and illusions has been our preference and our focus for so long that the bright Light and clarity of our True Self seems new.
The miracle of healed perception that comes from forgiveness reveals Who We Really Are. And behold, all things really are seen anew. As Jeshua ben Joseph said, "Who do you say that I Am?" And just Who do you think You Are?
"Your mind can be possessed by illusions, but Spirit is eternally free... The mind that serves Spirit is invulnerable." -- A Course in Miracles
