"The Will of God is One, and All There Is. This is your heritage. The universe beyond the sun and stars, and all the thoughts of which you can conceive belong to you." -- A Course in Miracles
Ideas are funny things. True ideas are like portals to reality. And yet the fragmented ideas that project the world as we know it are forms of self-deception so complete that we even forget they are simply ideas that we made up. True ideas arise as projections too, but arise from our unified Self and open the mind to the wholeness and unity that is our true Self. If you are reading this through the lens of fragmented self and its ideas, it probably sounds boring and philosophical or bogus. From the widened, unified perception of Self, these words point to Truth.
The Truth is that when we remember our wholeness, we are the gift of Everything. There is nothing missing or lacking, not too much or too little, nor could there ever be. There is only Everything, Everywhere, Every Now. In mystical traditions this is referred to as the Omnipresence, Omnipotence, and Omniscience of God. The notion that there could be something more (or less) than everything is absolutely unfathomable.
Where else could we be but in the One Self? What else could we be but that One Self in expression? What else could we need when nothing else exists? What could we fear when only Self exists? As ACIM points out, "All power is of God. What is not has no power to do anything." There is only One.
Seeing any one of us or any part of the world as less than whole, as less than this One, is the source of all our separation and pain. As the Jewish Shema proclaims, "Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is One. And you shall love God with all your heart and with all your mind and with all your soul and with all your strength." Any less than this total knowing of Self as One and we are back to our own illusory projections and the inevitable suffering.
When we take a moment to be still, to stop our endless illusory stories and conflicts and rest in the moment and breathe, we are always freshly amazed at the effortless ease and joy that bubble up from the depths of our True Self. This holiday, this every day, we are blessed with literally everything.
